With a gala hosted by the National Theater’s Covarrubias Hall, the Excelencias Group held, on February 22, the seventh edition of the Excelencias Cuba Awards, a well-deserved recognition to figures, organisms and institutions that annually contribute to the development of the island nation in several sectors.
The Excelencias Awards pay tribute to outstanding figures and institutions in a bid to foster excellence in different spheres related to the travel industry, culture, education, gastronomy and society.
The keynote speech was delivered by Jose Carlos de Santiago, President Editor of the Excelencias Group, who thanked attendees and people that help the Excelencias Group achieve its goals. He invited everybody to submit new candidacies to next year’s edition of the awards, always looking for people that benefit society. Jose Carlos de Santiago said that it has been an honor to accompany Cuba and Iberian America in terms of tourism promotion throughout the past 20 years.
The cultural gala was livened up by Polito Ibañez, Mariela Cobos, Haydee Milanes, Cucurucho Valdes, Vocal Renacer, the Symphonic Orchestra of Havana’s Grand Theater, Habana Compas Dance, soprano Milagro de los Angeles and tenor Andres Sanchez.
